She Gets Her Kicks was inspired by the scrapbook paper I glued to the board. It ‘s of a map showing the St. Louis area. I decided to create a vintage girl who is traveling. She has the key sto go on the adventure she is looking for. As I created her I was thinking about what types of vacations or trips people took back in the ‘50s-’60s. Route 66 came to mind. I looked it up and low and behold the Route goes right through St. Louis. This was completely an intuitive painting and I love the result.
